Sleep-Friendly Dark Chocolate Cherry Cookies

Servings: 10 cookies


  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1.5 cups whole oats
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup raw cacao
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup cherries roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar


  • Preheat the oven to 180c. Line a baking tray with a baking mat or parchment paper.
  • Beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, stir together the flour, oats, cacao, baking soda and salt.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the wet until mixed evenly.
  • Fold through the chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
  • Using an ice cream scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out a heaped tablespoonful of dough per cookie and place evenly on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the tray before sliding on to a cooling rack to cool completely.
